Welcome!! Thank you for taking a moment to find out more about me, the adventurer, photographer, framer, teacher, daughter, sister, wife, and mother (to the four-legged)!!

My husband and I live in a small community near Charlotte, NC where we I teach high school life science and he does all things horticulture. We have six furbabies right now and a small flock of chickens. I married a good country boy and he has transformed this city kid into a semi-country girl! I love outdoor adventures and have spent many hours kayaking, camping, rappelling, backpacking, and walking along the shore. My most adventurous move so far has been skydiving (one and done, mind you!).

My teaching career has been a lovely combination of patience, intellect, love, frustration, success, failure, breakthroughs, and reward. My schedule has included general biology, AP Biology, AP Environmental, Anatomy, Forensics, Nutrition, Genetics, Marine Biology, and Capstone Research! I have worked with some wonderfully talented young adults over the years and I am thankful to have chosen a profession that has challenged me on a regular basis.

Our furbabies that make our lives a little more complete. We tend to take on those that may not have found a good home, or those who just needed to be re-homed. Dogs have been part of both of our lives since we were very small children and frankly, we can not imagine life without them! They all have their own temperament and quirks, and most of them sleep in the bed with us! They have us well trained…

For 20 years I have been doing custom framing in a shop on our property that my handy husband built for me. Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mother even had her own darkroom for a while! The passion to blend the two interests grew a few years ago and here we are today with The Valley Photography and Framing! I wanted to reflect our home location and since we live in what is locally known as Morrow Mountain Valley, the name seemed natural and was actually part of my original framing name, ‘The Valley Framer’.

Capturing the joy of the human spirit and preserving that for generations to come is my focus and I LOVE IT!! Learning, creating, interacting, and engaging are some of the aspects of photography that intrigue me. Capturing the moment and preserving it in a custom frame for a client, are both satisfying and rewarding.

If you have read this far, thank you for taking the time to find out a little more about me! I would LOVE to capture the moment for you!!
